Leveraged Finance (LevFin) Interview Prep Advice?

I have a superday coming up for a Leveraged Finance coverage group and I was wondering if anyone has any info on what I should focus on outside of the standard IB guides? The interview is for a first year analyst position (I'm a senior in undergrad rn).

I know LevFin is a bit different than the other IB groups and because of this I want to make sure I have my technicals down, so any advice on how to additionally prep would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't want to disclose the specific name, but it's a lending focused Japanese bank in NYC

  1. Prep for LBO questions, specifically drivers of an LBO, qualities of a good LBO candidate, and a walkthrough of an LBO
  2. Structure stuff

  4. Investment grade vs. high yield
  5. Be able to explain why levfin
  6. Understand recent bond market trends, enough to have an opinion

Also read through Rosenbaum’s LBO chapters and the S&P leveraged loan primer. Good luck
