Leveraged Finance (LevFin) Interview Prep Advice?
I have a superday coming up for a Leveraged Finance coverage group and I was wondering if anyone has any info on what I should focus on outside of the standard IB guides? The interview is for a first year analyst position (I'm a senior in undergrad rn).
I know LevFin is a bit different than the other IB groups and because of this I want to make sure I have my technicals down, so any advice on how to additionally prep would be appreciated. Thanks.
Which bank is it?
Don't want to disclose the specific name, but it's a lending focused Japanese bank in NYC
so SMBC?
SMBC lol
1) Understand what creditors look at when deciding whether to make a loan
2) Understand the capital structure hierarchy (different types of debt and where they rank relative to each other)
Also read through Rosenbaum’s LBO chapters and the S&P leveraged loan primer. Good luck
If this is for a Japanese bank, I will probably focus on credit and loans. They don’t do a lot of HY. Try to explain why Japanese bank SMBC/MUFG vs JPM/ BofA
