Leveraging Janitorial Services Internship

I will be interning in janitorial services for a BB in NYC this summer and had a few questions.

  1. What are my chances of leveraging this into a FT IBD position?

  2. Any places in NYC that I can live in for less than $500/month?

Thanks

You might be able to leverage into a shoe-shining position, or if you're lucky, I heard Goldman is hiring people to work in their ass wipe division, all it entails is wiping an MD's ass with a $100 bill every time he/she has a bowel movement.

Shoe-shining? Tried that before, the exit opps just aren't good enough.........

The Goldman opportunity does seem interesting, with plenty of high-quality facetime and clear deliverables, I will have to speak with my contacts regarding the position.

wow, do you get to keep that $100 bill?

MDs * $100 * 4 * work days.

(4 is adjustment for # of bills that needed to be used in order to wipe it cleanly) hmm hmmm

if you could get say 1004(# of wipes)10(# of MDs and similar) *6 (does any MD work 5 days?), $24000 a week, would you do it wiping someone else's ass? I'm sure most of the kids on the board would do much worse to get into GS.

Why would you want to do a FT IBD position when you your exit opps include sanitation engineer? That position is much more prestigious than any group on Wall Street.

You should TOTALLY try and leverage your current position in janitorial services into sanitation engineering. Better pay, less hours, and more dealflow.

So funny-- it is great that you guys need to make those jokes in order to estabilish that you are superior to janotorial services guy... so impressive... inferiority complex?

You are in a great position for corporate espionage/potential insider trading.

I've thought about doing it myself actually.

You're up on the floors in the middle of the night emptying trash cans, wiping up, etc.

Sometime bankers get lazy about shredding everything they should. They leave stuff out on the desks, etc.

If there was janitor who actually knew what he was looking at, he could make a killing.

You're the person nobody suspects, because they think you are too stupid.

You can make more money and work less hours than a an analyst.

Congrats and don't get caught.

Isn't that what he was doing in Wall Street?
