NYC is a grind. Many people want to get out once they are done with their time on the street. It really depends on what you want to do afterwards.
I thought I would live in NYC for 10 years but left after 1 even though I loved it.
Did you move to big city like LA or Chi?
I couldn't imagine why people would want to move..
I did move to a big city.
Don't get me wrong. I love NYC, but a GREAT opportunity in a big city outside of NYC is competitive too
I plan on living in NY to build experience at a BB firm in equity research or trading, but once I have enough experience and track record to lateral to the west coast or start my own fund, I plan on moving back to southern California.
