Listening to music in IB
Fellow monkeys,
I jumped on a BB IB desk FT in the pandemic and have seen myself listening to music when doing tasks providing little to no intellectual challenge and using earplugs to focus when working on more demanding deliverables. The foreseeable return to the office made me wonder how it is perceived to wear earphones/headphones/earplugs while working. I understand analysts typically start jamming to music later in the day when the seniors are gone. Is this accurate? Is it frowned upon to listen to music or use earplugs throughout the day?
No one cares - plug in and just grind out what you need to do.
First off get noise canceling headphones and don’t use ear plugs. Second, nothing is intellectually challenging
Just be yourself and do what you want... no one cares if you use headphones, what shoes you wear, what watch you wear...
Tons of people throw on music to crank, AM and PM.
Nobody cares but would get noise cancelling headphones rather than air pods or something like that, since they’re beefier in noise cancelling tech.
