Lost in the Sauce - Summer 2026
I'm in my second year studying BBA at a Canadian Semi-Target. My GPA is a 3.95 and I've had two finance related internships (one at a boutique investment bank, and one at a search fund, where I actually get paid and hired new interns). I'm also in ACIIC which is an intercollegiate investment club within Canada.
As of now, my techs are strong, and I've had a good amount of coffee chats.
Now, my concern is that I've already missed out on all good positions for summer 2026, and that I should defer a term and recruit for fall 2026. My school has a co-op program, in which i am registered to work for summer 2026, but I do not have access to the portal yet. The thing is, if I defer for fall 2026, I think I lose my co-op, but its not the biggest deal since most jobs i recruit for aren't listed on co-op anyway.
In terms of my main focus - I would be recruiting for summer 2028, but i'll definitely take a summer 2027 internship as well, which open up in a few months anyway.
Do any wise souls have advice for me? The question is: are there great positions for summer 2026 still open? Or do i defer and recruit for fall 2026?
