I work with one of my finance teachers on research projects. Right now he has me going through 2000+ M&A deals from 2000-2005, looking at all articles published about them, and determining managements projected cost synergies.
Next that is compared with the stock price and changes in the months after announcement/completion of the deal. This is taking forever.
Lucky for me I got the project too late to put it on any apps, not to mention that I missed most IB application deadlines anyway.
Didn't know what I wanted to do.

sounds like a great project. i wish professors in my school actually did stuff like this.
