MF or modelling classes?(if not SA IBD)
Hello,
I’ll be heading to Europe for a Masters program this Fall with a Bachelors degree in Engineering. Over the summer, I’m looking at interning with a local boutique in Mumbai. I interned last year with India’s leading financial services firm, albeit in the BO. I am trying to leverage that experience for securing an SA offer.
In case I’m unable to land the boutique gig, I have a mutual fund internship as back up. The MF is a mid to large cap and is one of the bigger players in India. Will the MF internship look good on the resume for FT recruiting? (the program im attending is a one year MSc in corporate finance) or should I take up classes that teach modelling (DCF, LBO etc. for noobs like me)?
Which one, out of the two, will improve my chances at landing an FT IBD gig? Thanks for the help everyone.
Save yourself money and just buy "Investment Banking" by Pearl and Rosenbaum. It has everything you need to begin working with DCF, trading comps, etc.
agree with the book. but will it be easy to understand considering i am a non-finance major? also, would the MF be a better option or should i concentrate entirely on learning modelling?
