Minority-owned investment banks
Talking specifically about New York based ones. Do they get the same deal flow as traditional boutiques? What are people's views on them?

I've seen some of the Women-owned, Hispanic-owned, and Veteran-owned investment banks on some fairly hefty IPO's. Check Uber and Lyft. Idk how they recruit or their deal flow outside that, but I would think they aren't just sitting around.
I see they are on a lot of capital market deals, but not quite on M&A or general advisory ones. Also, I wonder if people on the street would look them differently simply because they are minority-owned. No offense to them, just curious.
Not too sure tbh. A lot of these huge capital markets deals usually have some little investment banks tagging onto them for whatever reason. I'm sure it's good experience for juniors at the firm, and as for myself being someone who actually like capital markets work more than say, M&A, I would probably think it could be a good place to be.
