Good to hear! Unfortunately I wasn’t told on the spot that I will be move forward, but did sound positive at the end of the interview. Maybe wasn’t their top choice

I feel like you generally know how the interview went whether they say it or not. Most interviewers won’t tell you you are moving forward even if they loved you. From my experience, senior bankers tend to more forthcoming as their decision will likely not be overridden.

I actually began my process with a MD, he liked me so he told me that I will be having interview/chats with his analysts. Analysts round went positive, but wasn’t explicitly told that I will be moving forward. However, I did receive a formal HR response the next day for technical rounds with Associates

Good stuff. I didn’t really have a technical round (questions were more strategic vs. evaluate this accounting / valuation scenario), but those are really more of a check the box type of thing. My general advice is to be genuine - >50% of Moelis MD came up internally and they heavily emphasize hiring decent people / team players.

If R1 is the screen interview, you'll know if you're prime within 2 weeks. Source: I've been pending for 6 months

Oh, mine R1 was pure technical round back to back with two associates
