More prestigious: big law vs. small consulting/banking.
Hi fella,
What would you consider more prestigious?
Big law as in Baker&Mckenzie or small consulting/banking as in Arthur D. Little or Croon&Boer?

Career Resources
Baker McKenzie. Does it really matter though?
Do you have any knowledge about comp. and lifestyle differences etc. between big law and small finance?
I can't comment on comp or lifestyle differences as I have very little knowledge of big law but choosing your career based on its "prestige" is a pretty stupid idea. These are two completely different career paths.
I don't think many people are going to be deciding between two offers like this. You're either going for finance or going to law school targeting big law.
Non-law students in the UK can apply to 'training contract' schemes at biglaw firms just as much as law students can, the system of qualifying to become a solicitor/barrister is quite different here than it is in the US.
I personally know of many who had to make the choice between a finance/consulting offer and a training contract offer at a corporate law firm.
