MS hAs a GrEaT CulTuRe ?
Seniors love to repeat this day and night. But respectfully, I don’t see this as being true. My assumption is that they just benchmark themselves to Goldman and that they claim it's a great culture because it's relatively less trash compared to what GS has become (firing people through revoking key card access etc.).
Am I completely off with my assessment? Do I just hate the culture in IB? Would like to hear some other experiences.
Seniors aren't exactly gonna say the culture is bad, are they?
I suppose, but there is a difference between not admitting the culture is poor and making a big deal about how great it is constantly. I just feel like I am living in an alternate universe from what they describe.
They are selling something dude
Is that an alternative universe where random capitalization is acceptable, because is not in this one
No, it’s one where blatantly incorrect grammar and punctuation are acceptable, as evidenced by your comment.
Life pro tip: the more “marketing” something has, the more it sucks. If headhunters overemphasize “great culture” or the firm displays a “named xyz’s top place to work” then you know they are trying to compensate for a lower quality product.
MS people i've met seem really chill but I know the culture is brutal. There is an up and out culture, and no one's future is guaranteed at that firm. That means you gotta grind your ass off. But for the most part, people seem cool. Hard to generalize because I'm sure you'll find some hardos that work you to death and don't respect you.
