MS Media & Comms Group - General Thoughts, People, Culture, etc.
I know that this is a good group from a deal flow perspective. Any thoughts on how it is culturally, the people, hours, etc.?

Pretty average in the other aspects - people, hours, culture. There are worse groups at MS in all (FIG, Real estate, consumer) and better ones as well (sponsors, power utilities, transpo. Exits for analysts are towards the top and deal flow is pretty good.
is c&r weak at MS?
It's one of the less competitive groups, or has been historically
Thought MS has one of the best RE group?
This was a question specifically on culture / people. In that category MS Real Estate is not a good place to be. As far as how strong a group it is, MS RE is very good and exits are strong as well (although still mainly REPE exits)
What about looking at it from a more mid-level perspective (associate / VP)?
Generally there would be a pretty good correlation between analyst hours / culture and culture at the associate / VP level. My data points are from analysts in that group though, so hard for me to comment on the associate and VP experience.
Fantastic group. ~5 Analysts per year, runs very lean (as does rest of MS), all are smart & technically sharp. Great senior exposure and everyone actually likes each other and get along, M&A execution in house and recent exits include multiple to TPG, Carlyle, HGGC, & New Mountain, etc. Highly recommend,
Well Taubman carved the fuck out of the entire group lol
Okay, prospect.
Okay analyst that spends his time on WSO
Pretty good W/L balance as far as banking jobs go.
Based on friends that worked there?
