Need advice regarding future

Hey i am currently in y13 and need advice.

I am applying to UCL, Durham, Bath, Bristol and Manchester for Bsc Economics. Out of Bath, Bristol and Manchester, which one of these unis is the better insurance uni for IB/HF/PE.

Also, if Bristol is the choice, is it better to do pure economics or economics with finance

In addition, I plan to do a Msc hopefully at LSE. For IB, is it better to do an Msc in Economics or Finance or should i do their Msc Finance and Economics

Well, UCL is a target; Durham, Bath, and Bristol are strong semi-targets, while Manchester is a non-target.
If you want to decide on an insurance pick, it has to be one of Durham, Bath, and Bristol, which are pretty even for placements. If deciding purely on aspects and prestige, Durham is slightly better than the other two, but the differences between them are mostly marginal. Also, go for the MFin or Finance and PE at LSE; the MSc Econ is more for academics.

UCL>>Bristol/Durham>Bath/Manchester imo based on placements that I have seen.

Bristol actually perform very well and so would say that they are at least on par with Durham

Bath also performs well because of the ability to do a placement year during the Econ course.

Haven’t really seen too many Manchester placements, although there are a few and it is generally a pretty good uni. Pretty sure you also have the opportunity to do a year abroad at Bocconi if that interests you.

For the Masters, would recommend against doing one if you can recruit successfully out of undergrad, but would suggest doing a Masters in Finance/Management if doing one.
