Networking in NYC & HR

Hi, I am going to be in NYC next week and will be meeting with people that I have conducted "informational interviews" with.

What should my focus be now? Since I have already conducted informational interviews with them, what should I be doing during our in-person meeting?

Also, I have reached out to other people, but given the holiday season, they were extremely busy, so I was NOT able to speak to them over the phone. Would it be weird if I asked them to coffee? So, I can learn about them and their experiences at Bank X.

Lastly, is meeting with HR/Recruiters any useful? I want to meet as many people as I can, so I can make this trip worthwhile.

I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving break! Any insight/tips you can provide would be very helpful and greatly appreciated!

Your in person meeting should be about you getting your contacts to like you. Bottom line is that if they are going to stick their neck out there to refer you, they need to know that when you go into the interview you are going to 1) know your stuff 2) have good reasons for joining that firm 3) not make them look bad in front of their bosses/piers.

So be confident and friendly and above all give off the impression that you are going to be able to do all three of those things listed above.
