Networking with high-up person at BB

I have connected with a good family friend who is extremely high-up at a BB (as in one of the top 5 people at the firm). I was wondering how useful this could be, as I am new to the investment banking world. I go to a target school with a very good gpa, but I know I am a little late to ib recruiting. In terms of how far this contact could get me, I know there are a lot of different variables in play, but is it pretty likely i'll get a first round interview? Superday Invite? Thanks.

thanks for the reply, just wondering what you mean by fucking up the interview colossally. By that do you mean not knowing the answers to the technicals (or something along those lines), or do you mean something like coming off as an asshole/having no people skills whatsoever?
