New firm: lehmanbrothe.rs

Just saw this start up out there trying to sully the Lehman name. From their website:

"We are the other Lehman Brothers. You may not have heard of us, but you know us, that which has always been here, not in the board rooms of banks but in the heart beat of the greatest city on earth. We are the true spirit of New York. The funny, inclusive, sometimes obstinate, but always passionate character at the center of the Empire State. We’ve been here all along and are not planning on going anywhere.

Our sparkle and fanfare comes not in executive limos or in $10,000 suits, but with an edge tempered in the five boroughs, and one thing is for sure we know our whiskey.

An unfortunate turn of events of the 2008 crash led the name Lehman Brothers to become synonymous with financial devastation with New York at its epicenter. Shockwaves reverberated around the world when a trusted and age old banking institution fell on its sword, and nearly brought this city to its knees.

As we say in the Big Apple “Ever Upwards”. It is in this great state one can see that from the ashes of disaster can grow the roses of promise and progress.

We want to expose another side to New York. A face where the ticker moves in the right direction. One which is hard working, proud, hopeful, and warmer.

We are proud to showcase Lehman Brothers: The Limited Edition ‘Originals’ range. The ‘Originals’ range have been exclusively commissioned for Lehman Brothers from a panoply mix of New York’s award winning, highly acclaimed , and choicest state distilleries. If a whiskey could be called a New Yorker, Lehman Brothers would be the quintessential New Yorker. It has the adaptive, vibrant, and relentless spirit that New York is so rightfully proud of."

Dick, as slimy as it is to nick the Lehman name like that, you did say you were looking to diversity your liquor cabinet! Haha, just kidding, of course. How did you even find this? They look pretty obscure.

I found it via an email that went out to a Lehman alumni group this morning. The Bros gotta look out for one another.

Nice. Good to hear that you guys are still in touch. Also, on an unrelated note, when can we expect the first 'Ask DickFuld' of the year?

Great question. I haven't really thought about it. Let's gather some questions here and get a consensus of the best question or two to answer. Fair enough?
