Next Steps after IB
Just a quick background, I am currently finishing up my 2nd year as an analyst. So far, I dislike this job but I am not sure on what to do. I don't want to do private equity or credit as I do not find this type of work interesting at all. I want to leave but the money is too good which had made me too comfortable with my lifestyle. I just don't think I can do this any longer. Really looking for advice from people who were/are in similar situation as me and how you guys were able to figure it out?
What don't you like about it? The hours/repetition etc, level of detail?
Just about every junior role in finance has kind of mind-numbing low-level work. It gets interesting as you become senior and stop being the one doing bitch work and are instead meeting with clients, solving problems etc.
My recommendation - do something like corp dev... the work becomes a lot more tolerable when you're doing it from ~9-7 and not all day, every day. Fill your extra time with friends and hobbies instead and
Fuga illo voluptas architecto. Aut et cum ducimus veritatis et impedit occaecati. Quia soluta magni aut pariatur. Nihil ratione molestiae recusandae perferendis dolorem.
