Don't really believe this? Know a current analyst there and his group was actually discussing hiring laterals because they were so busy the past two-ish months and needed more bodies before new first years got onboarded. Possible the layoffs are in non-IB (PWM, ER, etc) but I am skeptical about IB layoffs.

Blair already had a wave of layoffs earlier in the year as a result of COVID-19. Do we really think they'd double down on additional cuts within a 3-month timeframe? Are we sure prospectives aren't confusing Blair with Baird, their competitor who supposedly initiated layoffs this week?
Yup. Talked to my friend the analyst and he said he hadn't heard anything, but he's in a pretty small office so possible he might not have gotten the memo yet. My gut is that someone mixed up Blair and Baird, it just makes way more sense
