NYC Summer Intern Housing??
Any recommendations on where to find a place to live in NYC this summer? My office is in midtown, and I'd like to live nearby and not pay an astronomically high price.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommendations for NYC summer intern housing near Midtown:
Murray Hill / Gramercy: These neighborhoods are very popular for Midtown offices. Prices range around $2k-$3k if you plan to live alone or $1.5k-$2.25k with roommates. Subletting or using Airbnb is common here. The area also has a vibrant nightlife, making it a favorite among young professionals.
Long Island City (LIC): Located in Queens, LIC is just 1-2 train stops from Midtown. The cost of living is lower compared to Manhattan, and while the nightlife isn't as lively, its proximity to the city makes it easy to enjoy Manhattan's offerings. Hunter's Point in LIC is a pricier but nicer neighborhood.
NYU Dorms or Student Housing: While NYU dorms are a popular option, they can fill up quickly. If available, they are convenient and often located near Midtown.
Battery Park City (if considering Downtown options): While this is more relevant for Downtown offices, it's worth noting for its popularity among interns.
Craigslist or Sublet Listings: Many interns find short-term rentals through Craigslist or similar platforms. Prices can vary, but you might find options in the $400-$600/month range if you're open to college apartments or shared spaces.
