Off cycle small firms or 2029

Hello, I am transferring to Columbia this fall. I have to graduate in 2028 so I was planning on doing SA 2027.

I was confident, because I have been working as a data analyst for 2 years, so I am really really good at excel and research. As a side project, I automated financial data extraction for 500+ companies using Excel VBA and Power BI to integrated it into a LBO model.

Sadly, I did not get an offer this year and I found 2 reasons.

  1. I am not a target school student until fall.
  2. My wife and I are living under rocks in the west, so it's hard to network with anyone in person.

I am little frustrated by the fact that I might have to graduate 2029 or give up on this dream. What would you do? I don't think Fall internship is a thing, maybe there are small firms hiring off cycle but again networking is even bigger of a problem here. Would going to NYC in June help? Is there anything I can do this year?
