It doesn't always happen, but can, specifically when they're short on time. I had the same thing happen. The offer letter is all printed. Whether you print it out or they do doesn't really make a difference. You just need to send it back because they obviously need your original signature on it.

Mine was emailed to me the day I got the call, and arrived in the post a few days later. I signed the hard copy and sent it back.

My friend received an offer from JP Morgan (London)

they emailed him the offer letter, asked him to mail it back to them- never received a hard copy

i guess we were just both kinda curious about it since when I got an offer from my bank, it arrived in the post as a hard copty

fearthemartletI got mine from JP Morgan in an email the same day as the call as well, and mailed it back the next day. Never got a hard copy in the mail after that.

so i guess that's how JP Morgan does it (out of London) at least. Thanks for your response. Are you going to be working for JP this summer in London? (if you don't mind me asking)

PM if you want to keep it private

My offer from JPM last year was hard copy only, weird how it seems to be so random!

I just got my offer letter from JPM in New York and it was an email.

You give me a gift? *BAM* Thank you note! You invite me somewhere? *POW* RSVP! You do me a favor? *WHAM* Favor returned! Do not test my politeness.

acs_londonWait so you guys in JPM just got an emailed copy of the contract to sign and send back? My bank sent me the physical version of the contract alongwith 8-10 other documents to fill up and send back.

Yes, it was just sent in an email and the directions from HR on the phone were to sign it and mail it back if I wanted to accept it, in my case within the next four days.

For the next question, I got the call around noon, and the email came at about 5pm the same day.

The recruiter said after you sign and return the offer letter that is when you get all the other stuff to fill out.

Hi,

I know this thread is pretty old, but before opening a new one (since my question seems relevant here)- if I need to sign an offer and fax it back but don't have a way to fax or scan it , is a digital signature good enough, then I can fax it using a web fax service like this fax exchange (http://www.interfax.net/en/solutions/fax-exchange) or something similar?
