Offer Letter Questio
Hey all,
Quick question, really just to satisfy a curiosity I have:
Is it normal for a bank to email you the offer letter and have you fedex it back to them rather than mail you a hard copy?

no.
It doesn't always happen, but can, specifically when they're short on time. I had the same thing happen. The offer letter is all printed. Whether you print it out or they do doesn't really make a difference. You just need to send it back because they obviously need your original signature on it.
My bank emailed and mailed me a copy of the offer letter. I emailed them back a signed copy.
I was offered to e-mail/fax/mail it to them. My choice.
My offer was emailled, since they wanted it sign quick time to get everything else to happen. I signed and faxed it back.
They mailed me a copy later on. That said, its 2011 why wait for paper mail, i think all firms should just email their offers these days.
Mine was emailed to me the day I got the call, and arrived in the post a few days later. I signed the hard copy and sent it back.
My friend received an offer from JP Morgan (London)
they emailed him the offer letter, asked him to mail it back to them- never received a hard copy
i guess we were just both kinda curious about it since when I got an offer from my bank, it arrived in the post as a hard copty
I got mine from JP Morgan in an email the same day as the call as well, and mailed it back the next day. Never got a hard copy in the mail after that.
so i guess that's how JP Morgan does it (out of London) at least. Thanks for your response. Are you going to be working for JP this summer in London? (if you don't mind me asking)
PM if you want to keep it private
My offer from JPM last year was hard copy only, weird how it seems to be so random!
Same here.
Mine was e-mailed. Had to print it out and scan it back or fax it.
Two BBs overnighted.
Last spring I was mailed an offer letter, this time I was emailed and sent in the hard copy. Both from the same bank too. Really depends.
I just got my offer letter from JPM in New York and it was an email.
Wait so you guys in JPM just got an emailed copy of the contract to sign and send back? My bank sent me the physical version of the contract alongwith 8-10 other documents to fill up and send back.
Yes, it was just sent in an email and the directions from HR on the phone were to sign it and mail it back if I wanted to accept it, in my case within the next four days.
For the next question, I got the call around noon, and the email came at about 5pm the same day.
How long would it usually take for email/mail offer to come after the call/verbal offer?
The recruiter said after you sign and return the offer letter that is when you get all the other stuff to fill out.
Hi,
I know this thread is pretty old, but before opening a new one (since my question seems relevant here)- if I need to sign an offer and fax it back but don't have a way to fax or scan it , is a digital signature good enough, then I can fax it using a web fax service like this fax exchange (http://www.interfax.net/en/solutions/fax-exchange) or something similar?
