Opps. in Texas

Hey, I go to school at a midwest semi-target (Top ten Undergrad) and want to know a bit about opps in Texas. Dallas, Houston, and Austin are appealing to me with the weather and I would love to get an MBA at McCombs in the future. Applied to McCombs undergrad but got rejected. Anyone have any insight on this?? Thanks in Advance.

When you say "Top 10 undergrad" nobody is thinking major specific rankings.

Top 10 undergrad means Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Columbia, Penn, Chicago, and then two or three of Northwestern, Berkeley, UT, Michigan, UVA Duke.

Nobody is thinking Indiana when you say top ten UG. Just helping you out here.

If you want banking then you gotta go Houston for O&G. Right now Dallas is mostly LMM stuff. There is a good Goldman Real Estate group and Houlihan has a solid Healthcare group. Other than that most banks are trying to build a presence in Dallas for a growing economy but no super solid groups yet.

Austin is great for tech, lots of companies building new offices there (Apple, Google.) Also Dell HQ is in Austin.
