PE Headhunters Reaching Out On LinkedIn Early

I'm still in college and I receive LinkedIn direct messages, constantly, from private equity recruiting firms. The messages usually specify that the opportunity is for directly after graduation and I already signed my offer for IB so I just ignore them. Is it worth staying in touch with some of these people for PE Associate recruiting? I feel like it can't hurt but I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with something similar and it's a waste of time. Thanks in advance!
