Phone Call Chat with Campus Recruiter
I cold emailed an IBD VP at a BB and he forwarded my email to a campus recruiter, who's set up a 15 minute call with me next week. Does this kind of phone chat actually mean anything, or is it just gonna be the standard Goldman pitch that they make at campus career fairs? Coming from a non-target, this is a really exciting opportunity for me so I'd like to know what I can expect going in, and whether I should temper my expectations.

I’m not IB and I don’t fully understand your situation. However, have excellent answers prepared for why you are interested in this role/company. Be ready to discuss your prior experience and how they have prepared you for this role (skills you built) and have an thoughtful question ready to as the HR person, something high level but meaningful.
It's good the VP referred you. You will probably be given a Hirevue for sure as long as you don't mess it up with the recruiter
