Please don’t followup more than 3 times
Work at an EB and from a semi-target so I get bombarded with informational emails daily.
With that being said I like helping alumni and even kids not from my school reaching out (as long as some sort of connection). There will be times where I’ll be slammed so I forget to respond so a follow-up email or two definitely helps.
But, if an analyst (or any banker) doesn’t respond after 3 emails (esp if its 100% cold email with no connection) please move on.
There are a couple of you out there that have followed up with me 6+ times. Trust me, doing that won’t do you any favors and I’d be more inclined to auto-ding you for your lack of social awareness/etiquette if you get an interview.
