Preparation for no return offer

BB intern here with anxiety and a feeble bladder. The bladder part isn't related to this issue. I'm seeking advice for how to mentally prepare for the outcome of me not getting a full time offer.
Please, pretty please

Update: Got the offer :)

I cried out the stress and it helped. Now i genuinely feel like I can accept whatever my fate is. Also whatever happens i’m for sure going to drink my emotions away that night

You have a big margin of safety because you are still in school. An internship at a BB will help greatly with next round interviews and securing jobs at non-bank positions. There is nothing wrong with working at a credit rating agency or non banking role for 1-2 years after graduating. You'll still make 75k plus which isn't a lot but not a deal breaker.

How pigeon holed are you if you end up in one of those roles

If you end up without a return offer, take a few days to lick your wounds and reflect on it, but get back on your feet as quickly as you can and try to secure yourself a FT role. Had a similar situation last summer and didn't take it too well the first few days, but I realized being upset wouldn't get me a new job--it was my responsibility to earn the next role. Try your best to use your network and apply to openings, and you'll definitely be able to find a solid FT job. Good luck!

what did you respond in interviews when they asked if u got a return or not? having a hard time figuring that part out

In my interviews I'd try to preemptively answer it in my intro/"walk me through your resume" spiel by saying that the internship wasn't a fit for me and that I was looking for a different opportunity. This was easier for me to spin coming from ER, I had told interviewers that I was looking for a role that was more team-based and deal-oriented.

I would just say that the internship/culture wasn't a fit for you. You can also respond honestly and speak about what weakness/shortcoming might have contributed to you not getting a return, and how you plan on changing that behavior, but I like the first option better.

Honestly, I am of the opinion that if you think you aren't getting a return offer as an anxious person, you probably will get it. As a fellow member of the anxiety clan, I died of anxiety in the week leading up to the return offer, and I was microanalyzing everything. My meeting for the return offer was scheduled a few minutes after everyone else and I was convinced that meant I wouldn't get the return offer. In hindsight, I got the offer, came back a year later, and ended up being top-bucket when I thought I was most definitely the worst intern in my class.

Right now, with a couple of weeks ahead you, why not focus on making sure you end the internship on a strong note? Worry about the no-return if it actually happens but you should focus on the now versus the future.

Same thing happened to me but I was actually right and I didn't get it lol
