I am very interested in the field of Public Finance and most discussions on here are dated/ or focused on traditional IB. Anyone have advice for someone looking for an internship in PF IB for 2026?

To your knowledge how wide is the difference between traditional IB and PF comp ?
At BBs the difference is in bonus. Pay attention to where PF is housed in the bank, if its in the investment bank (like most but not all bbs), it will be near identical base comp with a haircut on the bonus. MM is significantly lower
analyst bonus difference seems to not exist
treat it like any other ib recruitment cycle: network heavily. Would also especially focus on your behaviorals and 'why public finance' story/answer
