PWP Industrials NY vs LA

Hi all - SA 2025 prospect who’s very interested in Industrials banking. As I understand it, PWP will only interview you for one office, so to decide on whether or not to pick LA or NY as my top choice in the applications, I’d appreciate if anyone can share a bit more insight into how the two offices’ Industrials groups compare. Thanks!

NY Industrials is larger in terms of headcount but LA Industrials is sizable and is more of a 2nd Industrials hub than a satellite office. LA focuses on E&C, Industrial Services, Industrial Tech, and A&D (leaning more towards commercial aviation and structures) and also has a P&U partner sitting there, whereas NY focuses on building products, capital goods, paper and packaging, forestry, chemicals, infrastructure, agriculture, and A&D (focused on defense and government services), with Chicago focusing on metals & mining and automotive. LA is culturally much more relaxed and intimate whereas NY's culture is more traditional and buttoned-up, although both offices grind. LA also has a very open culture to buyside recruiting whereas NY is a bit more hush-hush, although both offices have solid placements (LA's tend to be West Coast-focused).

Didn’t the Industrials group demand the juniors for their exact location during the last two weeks of December? One of my roommates is at Perella in another group and there was a rumor going around that it’s pretty dystopian in that coverage group.
