Question in regards to interviews for SA positions
For those who went through the interview process for summer analyst positions...were your interviews technical question heavy at all?
The reason I ask is because those who went to my school and have held SA positions, have said that their interviews were not technical heavy.
I have heard that Goldman & the boutiques interviews for SA positions are, but in terms of some of the other BBs and MMs it seems as though many of them seem to be more geared towards behavioral and fit questions.
For those who would rather not give away specific bank names that is alright with me, just looking for a general overview.
They are not technically heavy. They will ask verrrrry light technicals (bailout, the financial crisis) but they will not tear into you unless you bring up something technical yourself.
It completley depends on your interviewer. Really, that's the answer.
A good rule of thumb is that the only way they're going to grill you on anything beyond basic financial statements and valuation is if you say something/have something on your resume that would suggest you know more.
Yea, I wouldn't listen to MissingNo. They could give you no technicals or completely grill you, even for SA. I had both experiences when I went through SA recruiting... study up.
