Rates resources
Hi all, posting this here because the S&T forum is practically dead. Looking for resources (textbooks, vids, etc.) to learn more about rates, FICC and such. Recently discovered my interest, in rates specifically (i work in IB coverage) and really want to learn more about this, but feeling overwhelmed on where to start given my huge knowledge gap. Appreciate any resources you all can point me to
Ok meant to post this on HF and don’t know how to edit after new update….so if anyone here can help me. Thanks
Hey there! It's great to see your interest in rates and FICC. I've got a few resources that might help you get started:
For a good understanding of the tradecraft and jargon used in FX and rates, you might want to check out this guide: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vx7ukzvk0r666ud/JPM%20FX%20guide.pdf?dl=0</a">JPM FX guide
To understand the drivers of these markets, I'd recommend starting with Piper Sandler's "Interns Guide To Macro." It gives a great overview of the business and liquidity cycle and how they impact asset classes.
Variant Perceptions blog and YouTube channel can also be useful. They provide insights into the mind of a top-down investor and how they think about the business and liquidity cycle.
Remember, it's a journey, not a sprint. Take your time to understand the concepts and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Happy learning!

Lastly, for coding skills in fixed income, rates derivatives, currencies, and commodities valuation, you might want to look at some online resources. There are many analysts/associates at top AMs listing these skills in their job descriptions on LinkedIn.
Remember, it's a journey, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed at the start. Take one step at a time, and you'll get there. Happy learning!

Options, futures and other derivatives by John Hull is the best reference material
