Recruiting as Analyst vs A2A Associate for PE/Growth

Currently a first year BB analyst in P&U/energy coverage looking to exit into generalist PE/GE exits. Historically, strong exits from my group have been into energy and infrastructure funds, with analysts looking to go generalist or into another industry going into smaller MM shops.

I have the opportunity to join our TMT coverage as a 3rd year A2A, but am unsure if A2A will open up more exits in terms of PE/GE recruiting. Would be great to hear of other experiences using A2A to change coverage industries for exits.
