Rejected from Hirevue despite MD Referral

Hi everyone on WSO, today I got rejected from a MM IB for SA 27 before even the hirevue pretty much within 1 work day after sending application in despite having an MD referral to HR as well as having one of my good friends in the firm who is an analyst pushing me.

For some context, I go to a target and I would like to think have an okay resume(3.9, relevant experience). Don't think I have any red flag in my apps such as needing sponsor or anything as I have gotten most hirevues that have come out and a couple 1rs?

Just wanted to ask what might be the reason and if there is anything I need to be careful and do in the future to hopefully not fall into this boat again. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read the post!

An MM shop seeing a guy go to a target with a good GPA + experiences might elicit a response of 'This guy will probably get offers at better shops, so why bother interviewing.'

Okay okay I'll reach out. I would understand the suited part but for this firm particularly there wasn't the suited assessment making me more confused. I'll reach out though thanks!
