Resume bending

Ok,

So I'm a rising junior with a decent internship and ok resume. I had a terrible first year of college (injuries, soccer, away from home) and had a 2.62 and 3.1 GPA in first two semesters. However, since then I've earned a 3.75 and 3.703 in much harder classes. Does anybody think it would be a good method to boost my resume gpa by leaving out my first year GPAs all together and averaging a 3.72? I think that if I noted on my resume that the GPA was accrued since Fall 2010 at a footnote on the bottom, unless the recruiter or whoever is really looking, they will not account for the fact that I left out freshmen year? And even if they did see that, they would give me an internview anyways? Thanks guys

Just put it this way:

Cumulative GPA: 3.3 (assuming you took an equal number of classes each semester) Sophmore Year GPA: 3.7

Don't footnote it as that will look like you are trying to hide something. This will be fine as it shows improvement. If you can get 4.0 in both semesters of your junior year, you will be above 3.5 going into senior year recruiting, while also demonstrating a continued positive trend.
