Rich Arabs can buy anything ... but access?

As well as the stars, a number of Middle Eastern royals, including a Dubai prince, had come on board for the party. These royals had all the money in the world, but even they could not access the kind of crowd Low was able to muster

Interesting quote from a book regarding Jho Low's whole 1MDB debacle. (Excuse the lack of context, I hope you can still parse the meaning)

You can be the richest in the world but not have access or be able to party with mega stars like Leonardo DiCaprio (unless one buys a record label).

I think it realistically boils down to image. Not everyone wants to be hanging around with oily, Islamic, backwards billionaires who have never been said no in their life. The better the image you have generally, the more access to capital (or something worthy, in this case parties with Leo) you have. The shadier business practices, accessing capital (same shit as above) could be tough?

What are you taking about image? Elon Musk literally just bought Twitter with Walid bin Talal, one of Saudi’s richest. I haven’t heard a word negative about Elon for doing so. Maybe the reason they don’t have access to Leo is that their businesses are in the Middle East and not Hollywood.
