Based on the most helpful WSO content, the RJ Tech Boston office has a strong foundation. It was originally Lane Berry, a highly regarded tech boutique acquired in 2010, which now forms the backbone of Raymond James' tech group. The office has been part of Raymond James' rapid expansion over the past five years, with significant investments in rainmakers and MD hires, offering lucrative contracts that are more EB-like than BB/MM.

Key Points:

  • Deal Flow: The tech group is considered very strong, with a solid reputation in the industry.
  • Culture: The culture is influenced by the office's boutique roots, but specific details on the current culture aren't explicitly mentioned.
  • Hours: No direct mention of hours, but given the strong deal flow, expect a busy environment typical of high-performing tech groups.

If you're considering this office, its history and reputation suggest a solid platform for tech-focused investment banking.

Not sure about group head but yes we’ve been hiring a lot of laterals. 10 laterals within past 3 months for tech group. I’ve asked the lateral hires how they found out about the opportunity and it seems like a lot of them had recruiters reach out to them.

This seems rarer since most other places, to lateral it’s always the analyst having to reach out to recruiters / bankers

Anyone know about recruiting timeline? Also, what does a sweatshop entail compared to a normal SA internship. Granted I’m a sophomore and haven’t stepped on the desk so that’s why I’m asking.
