Rothschild - Spring Week 2025 - Online Assesment

Just completed their online assessment, wanted to leave this here for fellow UG monkeys

Rothschild’s assessment process is divided into three sections.

  • The first is just a bog-standard SJT
  • The second is a behavioral assessment using a sliding scale format, which I found a bit challenging, more detail below.
  • The third and final section is a straightforward numerical reasoning test, similar to Cappfinity but noticeably easier. just be quick, don't rethink questions, there is no hidden/trick question.

I struggled with the second section because it presented a conflict between the firm’s stated values. I went all in on the more social answers, but this is by no mreans a recommendation as I'm not high conviction on this.

mostly variations on the following:

  • “You are staffed on a project in a new area.”
    • Handle the work myself to see how far my knowledge as a junior would take me.
    • Immediately ask teammates/superiors for feedback.
  • “You find out you might not make a deadline.”
    • Communicate that you’re falling short—it happens sometimes.
    • Something along the lines of "I always make my deadlines"
  • “Do you feel more comfortable building networks and connections with people, or focusing on your own expertise and recognition?”
    • Building networks and connections with people.
    • Developing your own expertise and recognition.
