SA 26 Need Advice - NYC vs T2 City

Hello,

I'm a college sophomore at a semi target (think Emory/UCLA caliber) networking with different banks right now. The bank I've built the strongest connection with is top MM firm (think Harris Williams/RBC/Baird), with an office in the T2 city I'm from. My parents live just outside a T2 city, where there is a strong AM and PE presence, but IB is lacking with no BB IBD offices. There are some boutiques as well as middle markets similar to those listed above. Originally I was definitely planning to move to NYC for IB, but what is everyone's thoughts on taking the MM offer and commuting to work from my parents home? I'd save on rent but is the cost worth it? Of course if I receive a BB offer I'd take that first, but if it's between a MM in NYC vs T2 city near home what are the pros and cons?
