Series 7 or 63?
I recently finished an internship at an asset management firm and I'm going to be applying to banks next year. I got the opportunity to take and pass the SIE and Series 7 exam and was wondering if that covers the Series 63? Should I take the 63 anyway since I'm already this far?
Series 7 Isn't needed for IB.
Here's what you need
I see the greatest marginal benefit if you're applying to FT roles (incoming or lateral) because if you already have these knocked out, then the banks don't have to worry about helping you pass these at all. If you're going into your sophomore year, I guess if you're feeling up for it you can take the SIE and Series 63, but they don't make you take those until you start full time anyway.
I've heard that since the series 7 covers so much it might also count as taking the 63? Not sure if thats true, if it is I won't have to take the 63?
S&T at my firm takes both the 7 and 63. IB takes the 79 and 63. The 63 requires significantly less study time than the 7.
You already have the 7? Why would they sponsor you for an internship.. but if you don’t you can’t take 7 or 63 without being employed at a member firm
it was a unique opportunity to be able to do a lot more if you passed the test, almost like an optional assignment
