Short superday?

Hi guys,

I recently had a superday for a ft strategist role at gs (nyc). It went from: oa -> hirevue -> superday.

The weird part was: it was a single 45-minute session. The whole time I was communicating with hr, they called it a superday and the zoom session title seemed to reflect that too. When asked, hr confirmed it was 45 minutes (one email suggested 2 sessions, then they corrected it). I also had a separate automated email (from gs careers website) saying I proceeded to the 2nd round.

What could be happening here? Is it common for superdays to be this short? I'm new to interviewing at banks.

Thank you!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, superdays at Goldman Sachs typically consist of multiple interviews, often lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, with a mix of behavioral and technical questions. However, there are instances where formats can vary depending on the role or specific circumstances. For example, some superdays may involve fewer interviews or shorter durations, especially if the role is highly specialized or if the candidate pool is smaller.

In your case, a single 45-minute session being labeled as a "superday" could indicate a streamlined process for the strategist role. It's also possible that the process was adjusted due to logistical reasons or the specific requirements of the position. While this is less common, it’s not unheard of for banks to adapt their interview formats.

If HR confirmed the format and you received communication about proceeding to the next round, it’s likely that this was intentional and aligned with their process for this particular role. If you're unsure, you can always follow up with HR for clarification. Good luck!
