Skipping training
Training the street apparently makes us take tests. Is this work/results given to our group. Idk how they’re keeping track of you if you don’t do anything lmfao. Last year they had the fact that we’re all trying to get our offer to leverage against us. This year it’s the same nagging woman talking for hours. Using my personal email to log in. I just want to use this time to study for the 79
They'll report your quiz and assessment grades to your firm
How do you know this
They will send your scores to HR. This was specifically stated when I went thru it.
High risk low reward play - week 1/2 is a weird time to roll the dice.
You have quizzes and shit that they grade and send to HR (same deal at every bank).
I think when I was in training they told us they would report scores to our staffer on something. I think once we hit the desks no one knew or even cared about training. It was like all forgotten within a week except when people looked up materials for like capIQ shortcuts/formulas and/or how to set up a dial-in
Yea that’s what I’m thinking. They don’t give a shit
I'm thinking about skipping as well. Series exams to study for + wanna read a couple of group-related books/primers. I'm obviously willing to do the homework, quizzes, and final exams but if I don't attend the actual sessions, will my bank know??
My TTS lady also does cold calling which is extremely annoying since I don't want to not be there every time my name is called - bad look in front of others in the analyst class.
Nah they won’t know. I’m logged into tts with my personal account.
Skipping TTS to study for the Series 79 is high-risk low-reward. The 79 takes 4-5 days of hard studying to pass? They will absolutely report to your group that you skipped all of TTS. I don't know why you'd willingly start off on the wrong foot, when the time spent on TTS is more valuable than the series 79, which is forgotten almost immediately.
Nah. Depends on your group. All of this is traditional banking shit my group isn’t traditional banking

I agree that skipping training is dumb but most people cant reliably pass the 79 with only 4-5 days of studying, especially if they came from a non finance background. It's a ton of content and shouldn't be underestimated.
That's fair, I think 100% of my class (100+ bankers) passed within the 2 weeks we had allotted. Back to OPs point, not sure he's looking for advice, just confirmation that blowing off TTS won't get him fired (which it might).
Anybody using this time to study for private equity interviews?
Just study during the lectures...definitely do the work they assign though, no point in having them tell HR tell your manager that you didn't do any of it.
