Social Science to MSF to IB?
Hey everyone I just honestly have a question that I haven’t really found an answer to. Basically, all my life I thought I would be a lawyer because that’s what my family wanted, but now that I’m a senior at USC and scored 170+ on the LSAT I realized going to law school and becoming a lawyer is the last thing I want to do. That being said, I wanted to hear opinions on if obtaining a MSF would be a way to pivot my career path into potentially securing a IB analyst role.
Lets just assume I obtain the MSF through USC’s PDP program, would that be enough to help me land a role (also taking into account that I would do a summer internship during the program)?
In terms of my current experience, I’ve interned at two law firms, a talent management company and a talent agency (that I would likely work at if the whole MSF idea is trash). I’m not sure if it matters due to my major but I currently have around a 3.8 gpa. Obviously at my current situation it would be impossible to work as an IB so I was wondering if an MSF would benefit me or if it would be a waste of time (ignoring the price factor).
If any additional clarification is needed, please let me know and I’ll be more than glad to clarify.
