Soph summer at airline vs Chatham
Deciding between Chatham Financial vs Airline finance division for summer 25, I would prefer to work for the airline for non-rev and because I am interested in aviation. But if working for Chatham would set me up better for IB SA 26 recruiting I would choose Chatham in a heartbeat. If anyone has insight if Chatham is a much better opportunity as opposed to an airline I would greatly appreciate it!
Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights to help you decide between Chatham Financial and an airline finance division for your summer 2025 internship:
Networking and Experience:
Relevance to IB:
Future Opportunities:
In summary, if your primary goal is to secure an IB SA position in 2026, Chatham Financial would likely be the better choice due to its direct relevance and the skills you would gain. However, if you have a strong interest in aviation and the perks of working for an airline are significant to you, the airline finance division could still be a valuable experience, though it may require more effort to position yourself for IB recruiting.

I would think Chatham is leagues better, being able to talk about derivatives and exchange ratios and finance stuff in interviews would be great
