Currently an SA so I won't have the total comp money to spend but to start I would like to get a top of the line ergonomic chair for my mom who can't be bothered to sit with proper posture and doesn't see the point in spending money on these things. Just hoping that the chair will relieve some of her minor back problems she's had. Maybe pay for a personal trainer or whatever that can help with longevity and health.

Then, a very decent meal for my mom and some people to thank them for supporting me along my journey insofar.

Down the road, I’d like to pay for the vacations to said parties, probably only part of it given my means in the short term (they go on expensive trips). They have done so for me and I’d like to reciprocate.

They are all retired and wealthy, and could completely afford these things so it really is the thought and the underlying message.

Would be interested to hear thoughts of others.

I’d get them a new home desktop or laptop and it’s something worth looking into. Chances are they’re still using something somewhat outdated or low-res.

Newer computers have higher resolution and better graphics

It is tradition in our family to spend the entire first months' paycheck of your career on the people who raised you. I got a cruise for my parents inclusive of a new wardrobe, and my sister got them an Apple iMac and other home wares they wanted for their house.

No, white. But Catholic.

I don't think this has anything to do with race though, a friend from Africa does the same thing and they live in Jo'burg.

I’m a first-gen college student who moved here at 14. I used to joke around with my dad growing up about how I’d get him an S500 Benz once I became a doctor. Surely I didn’t become a doctor but I came through with my promise. I had a very good year and was fairly compensated. And to be completely honest, the way he looked at me when I drove into the driveway is worth more than the year I spent slaving away for that money.
