S&T Intern -> IBD Intern

I am fortunate enough to have secured an internship in S&T for the 2020 summer at a reputable firm. I am in my third year at a non-target now but will likely spend 5 years to get my degree. I realize IBD gives you more exit opportunities than S&T and for that reason I am thinking of finding an internship in IBD summer 2021.

What should be my gameplay going forward? I realize that S&T -> IBD will warrant a lot of questions regarding what I am interested in, what is the best way to tackle these if they come up in an interview? Should I look at the bank I will be working at this next summer for a lateral to IBD or should I look at a different bank/boutique?
