Suited Cog Assessment SA 2026
Ik this thread gets restarted every year, but I figure it'd be good to do it again, maybe with a little more detail. I just took the assessment, am including some info below but also questions for anyone who has either a) recruited in the past after taking it or b) just generally has an idea of how important it is
Section 1 & 2 - Accuracy/Detail
This isn't really that bad, it's just trying to make sure a long series of numbers matches.
Section 3 - Logical Reasoning
This is hard. They give you statements, and you have to figure out if other statements follow logically from those initial statements. Axiomatic reasoning is doable quickly with a solid understanding of foundational logic principles, but it's not something you can learn in an afternoon. These are kind of like abridged LSAT questions
Section 4 - Numerical Sequences
I thought this would be the easiest section - it might have been the hardest. If you've taken the wonderlic, you'll assume that these sequences are relatively easy and the priority is speed. The problem is that a lot of them are really esoteric. Certainly not all, but be prepared to skip a ton
I've read a few diff perspectives on how much the test matters - anywhere from "useless, I bombed and got an offer" to "sets a threshold below which everyone is automatically cut." I'm assuming the truth is somewhere in between, but would love to hear insight from anyone who recruited after taking it in the past.
Happy holidays/new year
Dump. Also did you prep at all?
Kind of hard to prep considering different numbers, patterns, sequences, etc…
I took it a while ago and feel like I did pretty well and I didn’t study for it at all. Just be smart about it and a stats class or discrete math class could help
A math class? What’s the math section like? From what I saw online it looked like pattern recognition
Don't remember my score, wasn't great, but had great interactions with their team. Just like a bear chase, as long as you aren't last, you're fine.
Do you think if I will be cooked with a bad performance lol saw some ppl saying it’s a filter but others says it’s not much of a big deal
My bank uses it for campus recruiting so in our process (MBA Associate Target Campus for EB) the suited assessment was never brought up by a banker or passed along as a driver of who we picked for any candidate cuts/stage of the process. HR has this data and looks at it however, the HR recruiting overseer who is in the room while we chatted brought it up at one point. Your results for aptitude (for performance) and personality (for fit) are mapped to a model that will predict your performance and retention. When we started training they made us retake it so they can link our results to our career trajectory and use it to inform the model.
Sounds like the model is being trained but while the application load is somewhat manageable for campuses they don’t use it. Id guess it’s probably used already to filter non-target candidates and it’s definitely used in discussions regarding how many spots target campuses get.
