Yeah, the $2k was a "housing allowance" just as my $10k for signing FT is a "relocation allowance." Bonuses by a different name; you get them in cash.

EDIT: I just re-read the topic. I got the bonus about 2 weeks after I started the internship, so not at the end of the summer.

And by cash you mean in a paycheck less applicable withholdings. Don't want to mislead anyone.

 

Khan, I'm sure the standard bonus applied as well. Most BBs will pay a "loyalty bonus" of a couple grand if you sign prior to Fall FT recruiting, and that's in addition to all the other standard payments.

 

some shops make the amount of the bonus dependent on whether or not you get a full-time offer to return (doesn't make sense to pay someone money that you aren't hoping to take on full-time). i remember other firms tying a portion of the payout to whether or not you signed on full-time (i.e. - $5K bonus, with the other "expected" $5K to be received with your regular sign-on bonus, should you join them full-time).
