SVB Tech NY vs. Ares RE Debt Atlanta

Got a summer analyst offer from SVB Leerink Tech IB NYC office and another offer from Ares Management Real Estate Debt Atlanta office at the same time. Which one should I choose? Thoughts on hours, bonus, culture, exit, city, long-term career trajectory?

I suppose that MF like Ares definitely has more clout, but I worry that RE debt might be too niche and hard to transfer to other group like REPE. Any thoughts on the difference between RE debt and REPE in terms of bonus and hours?

Talked to senior bankers from SVB tech and realized they have the greatest and coolest culture among all banks I’ve networked with. Also they seem to have pretty nice deal flow since they hired senior bankers from UBS, evercore, Barclays, jefferies, GS, etc. Given the future potential that they might have (and also it’s tech), I’m kind of hesitant between these two.

This is cringe. Do investment banking. So many dumb people end up doing blah blah blah that isnt commercial private equity or infrastructure at a name brand MF thinking its better. Don’t pick a name brand over the work youre actually going to be doing.
