Test if I was gonna renege
A boutique IB just contacted me to attend the first introductory interview for their summer internship. After talking to a friend I found out that they had sent offers to interns weeks ago.
I just signed an offer with another boutique last week so I said no to them and this IB said thanks and replied very nicely.
Right the day after I said no, a guy from the place I signed with got back to my thank you email I sent the day I got the offer, which is a week later. I feel a bit strange because it usually takes him one or two days to get back to me( understand he might suddenly busy)
Was just wondering if the invitation I got from the other firm a trick to test if I was gonna renege. I know they wouldn’t have gone that far for an intern but the date just matches. Plus, I am probably one of the few interns (or the only one) they have ever got that are from another city, so it’s much more trouble taking me in. Were they just testing if i was gonna commit? I did the right thing but just curious whether any place has done this.
Think people got more important shit to do than sending loyalty tests to interns
