Controversial

It won’t gain traction and fail like every other TX initiative meant to “sTicK iT tO tHe LiBs!!”

Meanwhile Californians who moved to TX are moving back, Austin lost ORCL, Houston’s shitty port didn’t take off and displace the LA port, etc.

Can add this bs to the list after they’re done freezing to death next time their power grid fails and their senator is getting a tan in cancun

I think it will be fine, backed by major institutions including blackrock and citadel. It doesn't need to be on the scale of NYSE or Nasdaq to be succesful, just needs a fraction of the amount of listings. Also I think if they make it more affordable, you could see an interesting number of sponsor backed IPOs that haven't been popular due to how expensive listing on the major US exchanges are.

I think it will have a good chance. I bet Musk moves Tesla to it after it’s running and if he IPOs his other companies he will list it on TXSE.

Also potential for a lot of companies who don’t want as many fees or regulations. I believe stocks are traded across the exchanges and are pretty fungible so really just need a few big names to switch and other IPOs will follow on the exchange. I bet if Musk moves over, most Texas based companies that IPO will IPO on TXSE, maybe a few major companies like the oil companies move over, and then you have a decent exchange.

With the big names already backing it with so much money, it should have a pretty good chance.

Question will become ‘Why list on the NYSE and NASDAQ if they will charge more and have more restrictions on my stock?’ I don’t think the exchange really matters too much anymore aside from the mechanics of issuing and listing a stock but correct me if wrong.

This will be dead in 3 years lol. Of course the exchange matters for reliability, credibility, integrity. What the hell does an “anti-woke exchange” even mean?

I think there can still be other benefits vs just being “anti-woke”. And the reliability of the exchange is still TBD but they have some big backers that make up a huge chunk of trading volumes on the exchanges now so I’d bet that they set it up right.

There are bunch of WSJ article on this topic people should read that calls out

- Recent lack of success by other exchanges

- Reliability of DE vs TX law

- Companies just having emotional attachment to NYSE bell debut or NASDAQ Time Square one

- High frequency funds closer to NY exchanges to cut down on time vs like in ND

So just read up. Also how’s BlackRock (the ESG villain) good to have on your cap table for an anti-woke exchange anyway?
