The one thing that keeps me motivated...

http://www.careers-in-finance.com/ibsal.htm I'm not sure if this list is outdated, but if it is then that gives me even more reason to work harder. Every time I see this I can't help but smile knowing that the dream job I want to do because it sounds amazing also pays more than most jobs period.

did you retards not read? I didn't say that's the reason. I said that's what keeps me going. And yeah I've never worked as a Ibanker but I've spoken to people and friends who work/know more than enough about it. And this is a job I can see myself doing 10 years down the line with no regrets.

those numbers are really old and low based on the last couple of years.

If money is the only thing, sure you won't last. But I can tell you from experience, when it's 5 AM Friday, you've maybe gotten 10 hours of sleep all week, you got a pitchbook due at 8AM, and you know you are going to work all weekend, pulling out that salary chart can get you over the top.

Maybe for some of you silver spoon in mouth, daddy's already rich and got you the job in the first place, you don't care about that (you don't have to). But for a regular guy with a hundred thousand dollars in student loans, living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, guess what...the money frickin matters.

Money may not buy happiness, but it sure makes being miserable easier.

If you can't read my name, I m from the same place of the world you both are. So stop giving me the "silver spoon" shit, because nobody has given me anything for free and unearned. Yes, I know that money is very important, but going to a board and saying that's the one thing that keeps me motivated makes you look like an asswipe.

Also, that guy is a freshman in college. He hasn't worked a day in banking but already knows that's what he wants to do 10 years down the road... give me a fucking break. So hackneyed and cliched, it makes me want to vomit. I have changed my plans 3 times in college. I had no fucking clue I would be doing banking when I first started and now I m seriously considering trying to be a banker for life. However, I m still keeping my dream job (army officer) as an option

So I'm a freshman, and I haven't had an IBANKING job. BUT, I do work for 3 different companies, handle the finances for 2 and enjoy the idea of investing period. I dabble in stocks and so forth and yeah that isn't exactly Ibanking, but it's finance related. Did I always know I wanted to be an ibanker? of course not. But I knew since high school and even before that that I wanted to be a businessman and when I learned exactly what an MBA was I was dead set on getting one. So you can basically see how all this correlates to Ibanking.

LB BankerUm...how does all that "correlate" to Ibanking? If you were my analyst, I'd shit all over you. Send me your resume one day, I'll get you a summer analyst spot.

This thread is getting better and better!
